Swan Lake Park — a natural indicator of clean environment at Novolipetsk

Novolipetsk workers created "Swan Lake”, environmental park, in 1978 and it is currently a unique place for the conservation and breeding of rare and endangered species of birds, located in the territory of the industrial facility. There is only one park like this in the territory of Russia and former Soviet republics.
Currently, 51 species of decorative birds (415 birds), of which 39 species are registered in the International Red Book, and 7 species — in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, inhabit the park. The lake in the park, which is replenished by purified process water from the Novolipetsk facility, is home to fish which are the natural source of food for water birds.
The area of the "Swan Lake" located in the heart of the plant is 5.1 hectares. In winter (from October 15 to April 15) the water in the reservoir is heated by feeding a mixture of compressed air and hot steam on the lake bottom to provide an enabling environment waterfowl.
About 20,000 people, including high school students and city universities, foreign delegations and guests of the mill, the city and the region, the staff of the plant, visit the ecological park "Swan Lake" annually. Ecological Park "Swan Lake” is a natural indicator of safe environmental conditions at Novolipetsk.
