Upgrade of raw material pre-heaters
This initiative allowed reduction in consumption of natural gas in rotary kilns of the Refractory Shop. Between May 2003 and October 2006, 6 kilns were furnished with new pre-heaters. The project capex totalled 78 million rubles, while consumption of natural gas was reduced by 21 million cubic meters. The project payback period was 2.6 years.
As a result, specific fuel consumption for limestone calcining was reduced by 12%.
